Bug in auto connect

Hi all. I am using VisualStudio Community 2017 (15.8.5) with the latest VisualMicro extension as of today, registered. I tried to use the new "vMicro\General\Auto Select Board/Port When a Device Connects" feature but every time I connect a Mega board, it selects Uno. I have to reselect my board again, which breaks the purpose of auto select. So I turned it off.

I hope the forum is the right place to report bugs. I couldn't find anywhere else.

You have not said which board you are using.

The way it works is that windows passes a VID/PID combination for the connected port then we look in the boards list to find a board with the correct VID/PIDS.  Some board manufacturers use the Uno VID/PIDs which doesn't enable a unique board to be found.

The feature was added because it is useful for some users depending on their hardware, however for most of us its not usable because the board manufacturers haven't thought about it yet.
