Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

I'm a paid customer and I use v-mirco with Atmel Studio. I started to play with PlatformIO and it's good. However, there is no debug support for Atmel AVR (8-bit), ARM Cortex-M0+ (32-bit), ARM Cortex-M3 (32-bit) micros. Somewhere inside PlatformIO/Atom is a version of Visual Studio.

Are you using the serial debugger or atmel hardware debug?

Hi,

We are hoping to add support for platformIO, hopefully later in the year. Microsoft have made some changes for VS2019 which requires some work during the next few months so PlatformIO might slip back till q3 or 4. I don't think we need their VS support.

update: Hardware debugging and a full range of programmers are included with Visual Micro in VS2017 and VS2019+.
