Serial Monitor sends '0x80' as two bytes

Hi there, I'm using the pro version of Visual Micro, and it's great. However, I notice that trying to send values above 0x79 over the serial port monitor (eg 0x80) results in sending two bytes. For 0x80 this is 0xC2 then 0x80, above 0xBF it becomes 0xC3, etc.

I imagine this is related to that being the end of the 7 bit range, maybe a unicode encoding issue? Anyway, I feel like when I send a control character, it should send exactly what I asked for (eg 0x80).

If there's some way to send raw bytes in this manner that I'm unaware of, please let me know. Otherwise, consider this a bug report.
