Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
 
Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

hey folks , brand new here to arduino.   When i try to Run to cursor in Debug mode, it pops up the following dialogue and wants me to select a debugger, of which there are 2 choices.

Atmel 7 with visual micro, Arduino ide 1.9 hw is uno

Hi,

If you want to use the simple usb debugging you did not need to make any changes

If these are on them switch them off.

Switch off "vMicro>Debugger>Use Atmel Studio"
Switch off "vMicro>Uploader>Use Programmer"

If you have a hardware programmer and expect to use atmel studio hardware debugging then please say but with Uno I suspect not.

ok those selections were updated however still no change.  here are the screen shots to show. same message, it keeps going to the programmer /debug property sheet telling me to choose.

Tim that is wierd on my previous post thought i had added the screenshots . for some reason didn't upload. however I did discover that I trying to "run to cursor" and it needed the programmer now I set a breakpoint it indicates it has stopped there.

I removed the images because after I had seen them they were not needed and made the post difficult to follow.

I am unclear if you are using atmel debug or serial debug, if atmel which programmer to you are using but if you are happy then great.

got it working after those adjustments, not sure what i'm doing but its now stepping.
