Why would anyone upgrade to AS6.2? It was discontinued by atmel many years ago and the version of visual micro in the gallery is from 2014 and is cleared marked as being for licenced users who chose to stay with the older ide.

File>open sketch is dependant on your arduino ide sketchbook location unless you have set an override for the location. You do not mention that in your report and have not supplied a version output so we have no idea which arduino version or paths are set.

You mention in another post that you only have a windows machine ith 32 GB of storage. It sounds like you are a unix or mac users normally so I don't think Visual Micro is the right product for you. I recommened the cut down version of Visual studio called vscode.
