VisualMicro Toolchain vs ESP/STMCube Toolchain

Is it true, that Visual Micro Projects for ESP32 or STM32

1. use essentially the same toolchain as Espressif IDF or STM32CubeIDE?
2. create essentially the same binary code as the Espressif IDF or STM32CubeIDE?

Thanks
Richard

The answer is yes but the manufacturers are responsible for creating the "Arduino" compatible toolchains and platforms. They might not include some functionality for Arduino. For example espressif have created the Arduino compatible package for ESP32 which uses IDF but some IDF functions have to be accessed via the Library facility that espressif have produced and documented on their site.

Both Visual Micro and the Arduino IDE use the same core and platform definitions to produce the same binary. Your question would probably be simpler and better answered by the author of each core that you have installed via Board Manager. When you ask your question you should ask it for the Arduino IDE. The answer will also apply to Visual Micro.
