Location for new project

When you create a new project (in a solution for example) it defaults the the Sketchbook location set in the IDE locations.

Without modifying the IDE locations it is impossible to change this as there is no option to set the directory for the new project.

It would be great if this could be done as I often (almost always!) want to decide where I want my project and with the current system I have to create the new project, remove it from the solution, move the files then import an existing project.

The option you are using is designed to use the arduino sketch book folder.

Use the standard visual studio File>Add>Project or File>Open>Project instead. You will find the Visual Micro new project templates in the list. That route provides the functionality you require
