Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post

Visual Studio 2022 GUI Serial or IP address combobox makes unwanted changes

Hi,

I am debugging multiple ESP32 projects, and use the Arduino OTA, which works well.  However, I am finding that when I work on another project, connecting via serial, for debugging, I the combobox just randomly switches to an OTA project, sometimes even during compilation.

This can result in deployed stable projects getting overwritten.

Is this a bug?  How can I get that dropdown to avoid just selecting stuff to be updated?

Do you have the vMicro > General > Auto Select a Board/Port When a Device Connects option enabled?

If you disable this it should stop changing the selection automatically.

Thanks a lot, that seems to have fixed it!  It was driving me crazy
