Now have VS 2013 plus the latest VS installed.I'm working on some timer code, and I entered a standard Interrupt handler like this:

I am confused - Atmel Studio "installs" VS2010, with some wierd name, don't recall it. I assume it is "legal" runtime of VS2010.
So why are you using VS 2013 to run Arduino IDE "extension"

Hi Vaclav,

I know all this is new to you but please create your own threads with questions so that users do not get emails for no reason.

So I hope you don't mind I have split your question into a new post

Your question is..

What is the difference between Atmel Studio and VS 2013?

Atmel Studio is built using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010

Microsoft make a number of versions of Visual Studio. The latest version is called Visual Studio 2013 Pro.

We can install the different Visual Studio versions on the same computer. On my computer I have 5 versions installed

Visual Studio 2008 (.net3.5)
Visual Studio 2010 (.net4.0)
Visual Studio 2012 (.net 4.5)
Visual Studio 2013 (.net 4.5)
Atmel Studio

Visual Micro extends all of these Ide's. The name of the Visual Studio .exe program file is devenv.exe. The names of Atmel Studio main programs are atmelstudio.exe and atbackend.exe

Visual Micro was designed for Visual Studio Pro but last year Atmel asked if we can also make it work in Atmel Studio. So last May we released some support for Atmel Studio

Is this clear? Thanks
