Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Tim per your email, how would I install your msi file as an administrator?
I'm not having any luck. Tried it at an admin command prompt.

Running win 7 ultra 32 bit
Microsoft Visual Studio 2008

Hi,

I think you can save the msi to your local pc my documents and right click and "Run as administrator"

First I would ensure all Ide's are closed and run the installer clicking remove, then run again as admin to install.

Might also be worth making sure .net 3.5 is up to date on your pc (windows update). I am sure it is but saying just in case Smiley

again, I find no way to run as admin
exe files yes but not a msi file

Okay sorry it's an option that I guess is not available on 32 bit. 

Can you please post a screen shot of the files in your program files/visual micro/arduino for visual micro folder

So are you saying you are getting the error while running the installer?

If so does the installer startup and okay? but the problem happens when you click install? What folder is shown during the install c:\program files... d:\program files ... ???

what I pasted in the folder search was what the installer said it created, So I assumed it worked fine till i looked for it. message said it installed fine.

I just copied what it posted and pasted in the folder, confusing to me.  Cheesy

Okay so you are saying that the installer ran through okay and you looked for the folder it suggested but could not find it?

You used the folder names displayed during install to locate the folder and not the folder example I added to my previous post?

If both answers are YES then you should check your windows update is current because this all sounds like issues with the Microsoft windows installer (msi) system.

I would not know what update id need. as I do not update ever time they come out with a new one. and I see that several have failed

Ah, yes if you have windows update issues then it's difficult to support people  Smiley

Actually you didn't need to buy anything. Visual Micro for Arduino is free. It is only the debugger and advanced features that carry a small cost to help fund this project.

The advanced version is also free for 30 day trial when you install Visual Micro so really you didn't need to buy anything.

Your email address is different to your purchase address so I can't work out which payment was yours. If you email visualmicro.com with your key or correct email address I will sort it out.

Yes sorry I didn't look back far enough.

I've thought some more. The error is trying to register a .NET3.5 assembly. If you missed the note about the product being free then it is possible you missed the note about .NET3.5 being required. It might not be relevant but thought it worth mentioning.

Normally if .net3.5 is missing I would expect the installer to fail immediately which is why it might not be relevant. You can check if .net3.5 is fully installed via "control panel>program features"
