Hello,

first i am really glad that i found Micros to continue a much easier and efficient way of programming Arduinos. But unfortunately after i have paid for a license and get Micro installed i get a failure every time i want to debug my code (attached you find a screenshot). Could you please help me and disclose why i get this "millis()" failure ? I am using Visual Studio 2013.

All Best

Don

Hi,

I see you are using the demo break point.

Some questions please:-

When debug runs does the serial monitor open?
The breakpoint is set to "break" not "trace". Are you pressing F5 to continue to the next break?
Can you see the "Micro Trace" output window? If so then what text is in it?

Thanks

Hello,

thanks for your fast response.

I did not set the demo break point, it seems that it was set automatically.

To answer your questions :

When debug runs does the serial monitor open?

Yes

The breakpoint is set to "break" not "trace". Are you pressing F5 to continue to the next break?

No

Can you see the "Micro Trace" output window? If so then what text is in it?

Please see new screenshot attached

Hi,

Thanks for the info. The debugger us running okay. If you look at the trace message is says that it is paused. This is how a debugger would normally work.

If you do not want the debugger to work then switch from "Debug" to "Release" using the toolbar. Then compile/upload.

When the debugger is paused the Start>debug, green arrow and F5 commands will continue to the next break-point.

If you do not want a break-point to stop then right click the red spot and click "When Hit". Then check the "continue execution" checkbox. Then compile and upload and the breakpoint will no longer cause the program to pause.

When you click the "continue" command during a debug session you will then see the milliseconds in the watch window change to the current value.

You can switch off the demo break-point in the options but there is no need to if you will be adding your own break-point(s). In that case delete the demo break-point and it won't return.

Take a look at the documentation link on visual micro. There is a section for debugging that is worth reading.

Thanks
