Using VM with Leaflabs Maple R5

Hi,
I have been using the VS Micro with Arduino (various) and LOVE it.
I have a few Maple r5 boards for which I use the Maple IDE, and except for problems with the USB port, the maple has the big advantage of 12 bits analog and a stronger CPU.
I found information regarding the use of the VS Micro with the Maple, (including the warnings) but I did not really understand how to install the Maple plug-ins.
Where are those 'plug-ins' and how do I add them to the VSMicro.
Thanks

One more comment to add:
Knowing the difficulties with Win7 and 8, I use WinXP for the VS Micro, Arduino and the Maple.

Hi,

I am not the expert with maple but if required I can probably find a Visual Micro Maple user to help. As you say it has a few issues but also some strengths. Maple don't seem to put much effort into the windows solution so as usual we make best endeavours but no promises.

To answer your question. The maple connectivity is included with Visual Micro. You configure it the same way as Arduino by opening the Visual Micro Ide Locations window, selecting Maple from the list then setting the path to the Maple Ide.

Visual Micro is also installed with a small exe that should automatically run in background when you attempt upload. The exe manages the reset of the maple prior to upload.

So hopefully you just have to configure the location of the Maple Ide then within any sketch changed the tool bar from Arduino 1.x.x to Maple and select your hardware from the boards list.

I hope this makes sense and answers the question?

Thanks

ps: I know a Maple user who also uses Xp but I think he now uses the adafuit or sparkfun core instead of the core from the Maple Ide. If you need to know more I can try to ask him.

Thanks Tim,
Unfortunately, when opening the VS 'Tools', 'Visual Micro (Arduino 1.1.1)', 'Boards', I can not find any Maple board, just many Arduinos.
I believe my installation does not have the Maple plug-ins that have to be downloaded.
I still have no idea where I can get them.
May be I will have to re-install the Visual Micro to include the Maple?

Hi,

No re-install required. Please review this page and see how Visual Micro supports more than one Ide configuration and all can be configured to work at the same time. This means you can switch between them just by selecting from the tool bar.

In the following documentation page please note that we have arduino 1.0.x and arduino 1.5.x. There is also a Maple option in the list.

Thanks
