Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

File-New-Sketch missing from menu

Visual Studio 2013 Pro
Arduino 1.6
Windows 8.1

Well I have done something to screw up the installation.


I went in and changed my configuration from VB to C# default.  After that my File, New, Sketch menu is gone.


I have repaired visual micro, no luck.
I uninstalled, and then installed again, but no luck.


Suggestions?

Hi, if, for example, you have a File>new menu and have lost the visual micro customizations then you can click "Tools>Visual Micro>Reset User Interface".

ps: Personally I use the "General" layout which covers all sorts of things. Remember that for Arduino we are using C++

Do you mean File, new project, C++, console application?
I don't understand "general layout"

Sorry I wasn't clear.

When you create a project with visual micro it is really a c++ project that is created for you. This is the only reason why I mentioned C++

Your post suggested you changed the visual studio UI shorts cuts and layout from "Vb Programming" to "C# Programmaing"

There is also a layout which I think is called "General Development" which is the one I find the most useful. However you can use whatever Visual Studio layout you want.

When you change the layout you might find that the Visual Studio "File>New" menu is not displayed in your layout so the Visual Micro menus are also hidden. Alternatively you might have a "File>New" menu but without a Visual Micro "New sketch project" menu item.

It is unclear from your post which of these situations exists. 

I posted previously about click "Reset user interface" on the "tools>visual micro" menu. Can you see this menu item and have you clicked it?

Yes, I saw the reset user interface suggestion which I will use tonight when I get home.

I am clear on what you meant by "general dev".

I've installed the msi file into my installation of VS2013 Pro but am not able to find any way to create a Arduino project or file. 
The Visual Micro menu shows up under the VS Tools menu but no where can I find the "file>new>sketch project" menu options. 
I have file/new project 
& 
file/new file
but nothing that allows me to create a new sketch.

How do I get this to show up? Angry
