Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

I'm running Win 7 and .net is enabled as mentioned prior, but I still get the Error 1001...

I've tried disabling .net, rebooting, and re-enabling but still get the error. Is there anything else that could cause the error?

I installed the plugin on a second Win7 computer with no issues, can I just copy the files over or is it more complicated than that?

This is certainly a .net3.5 issue. Please post a screen shot of it activated in windows control panel.

Neither option is selected now, although I did try turning both on and still got the same error message.

Okay thanks.

Sorry to say that I can only assume the .net 3.5 windows installer is corrupted or missing from your install. The installer is a windows .msi so we can't change anything obvious and it has so far worked for a lot of people.

Clutching at straws might possibly be a permissions issue. Did you try downloading and putting the installer in mydocuements or ano folder with high permissions then running as admin?

I did run the installer as admin from my documents folder, same error. Can I manually install by copying files from the computer it did install on?

Not really because there is a file that needs to be registered into the gac and some registry settings.

What is the exact error that appears? Did it say "Win8 .NET3.5 is required"?

Thanks for the info.

I have split your message into a new thread because the thread you used was for windows 8 and was solved.

Not sure why the microsoft installer is failing for you. The system has been running on win7 and xp for years.

We will shortly be moving the installer to .net4 and discontinuing our .net3.5 option for Xp users so that should help.

In the meantime I can only recommend repairing windows which I know is a pain.
