Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

No send button in the serial monitor window of Visual Studio

Hi using arduino 1.6 with Visual Studio 2013 professional and Visual Micro 1.1505.19 (6).

There is no send button visible on the serial monitor tool window. Is there some way to show it.

Maybe you need to drag the tool window wider?

Do you know how to move the tool windows around, dock and float, size them? If not let me know and I will explain

Maybe you can explain what changes you have made to the visual appearance of windows that might allow us to replicate the issue?

Did a install on another computer using the same components and the send button is visible. 

With the first install (where there is no button) I started by trying to install vs2015 until I read that it was not supported and I stopped the install. 

I also installed vs2013 community and deleted it before settling on vs2013 professional where the problem is.
I went to great lengths to clear out the previous installs but there must be something left that is stopping the button from being visible.

The only difference between the systems that I can see is java. Does vm need java.

Thanks for the info.

The visual studio version does not affect things and visual micro does not use the Arduino code. It is a re-write using .net so does not use java.

The serial monitor is a standard win form so the placement of controls can only be affected by screen resolution, font-size or dpi. What settings do you have under "display" in control panel.

That was it. I had it set to 125%. When I reset it to 100 then it showed up. Is there any way of using Micro Visual with the display magnified?

Problem solved. Found that I could drag the text box at the top. Making it smaller reveled the send button even with the display magnified.
