Hi,

1)
The esp8266 is removed from the ide list in atmel studio for two reasons. 1) It is obsolete since esp8266 has an arduino 1.6.5 board manager option and 2) it is not allowed by atmel that you use competitor hardware with atmel studio.

Visual studio 2013 is the right choice for esp8266 Smiley

2)

Visual micro board manager installed is the same as sp7. It looks like the esp8266.json has changed and requires some testing (again). The esp8266 is a new and fast changing system so we expect things to change for some months. However, you do not need to use visual micro to install the .json you can install it using the board manager in the Arduino Ide.

3)

All previous releases are on visualmicro.codeplex however you do not need a previous release especially if you want compatibility with the ever changing esp8266 Smiley

Thanks

Thanks

I think the problem is that esp8266 has changed their hardware and caused a problem. I will try to test it later today.

Sure but also tell me if you have other .json files installed in boards manager because it's not as simple as you might think Smiley There are some strange combinations which we are slowly working through. The arduino .json files always work Smiley

Here are most previous versions, if you want a different one that isn't listed then let me know and I will give you a link

Thanks for the support!

You can clean the packages folder in c:/users/name/appdata/roaming/arduino15/packages. I think there is a package that is different and confusing visual micro.

If you can give me the names of all your packages it will help be reproduce your environment.

Thanks

Thanks for the update.

1)
I will look at the remove. The problem can be the length of all combined paths. The standard windows c# delete fails with the paths become very long. But java on window in the arduino ide works so that doesn't say much for .net Smiley

2)
The installer was moved to .net 4 and has failed to update intellisense for some users. Sp5 was released yesterday which configures intellisense every time visual studio is run so that should fix the problem for everyone.

Thanks again
