Moving to windows 10
Aug 17th, 2015 at 10:27pm

After reading this post http://www.visualmicro.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1438775597 I'm having second thoughts on how to move my VM license to windows 10 so I hope the VM guys can give some advice.

Right now I have VM and VS2013 in my windows 7 pro computer. I already upgraded to windows 10 pro using a separate hard drive (clean install) so I have two hard drives one with W7 and VS2013 and one with W10 and VS2015.

First question: Is VM stable enough to be used in W10 and VS2015 or I should wait a little more before I move my license to W10?

2. What happens if I have my old W7 and VS2013 active and activate or try to activate VM in W10 and VS2015. I suppose there is a violation of the TOS (that I don't want or care to read). Will that create a conflict? Is it OK? Will the DMCA cops raid my office?

3. How do I remove/deactivate my VM license from my old W7 computer and how do I activate it in my new W10?

Thanks
rob

Hi,

Thanks for the questions.

The Vs 2015 extension is the recommended solution. It's out of beta and i well tested. Keep an eye out for updates which vs will notify you about. There has been a lot happening in the Arduino world as usual so there are plenty of updates.

For the key reset please email your key to info [at] visualmicro.com and request a reset for win10. It will leave your older licence running so both can be used.
