Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....

I can only select Attiny boards

Hi,

I have problems with getting the orginal boards with visualmicro in AtmelStudio 6.2. Probably because I added the Attiny boards some time ago. I have the 1.6.5 version of Arduino IDE and only the orginal boards to select there.

So now I have to work  in AtmelStudio and upload to my Mega  board from Arduino IDE  Tongue
Any suggestions on how the get back all boards available to select in AtmelStudio?

Hi,

This means that the Arduino ide path you have entered in the Ide locations window is incorrect or is entered for the wrong Ide name.

Which version of the arduino ide do you have installed?
Where is it located?
What location/path have you entered into Visual Micro and against which Ide name?

I did have the correct ide path, but the wrong version. I`ve got Ide 1.6.5 installed, but visual micro was set to 1.0.x.

Now I can see and select the same same boards as in Arduino IDE, but I do get compile errors. Tried one of the examples from IDE with Uno selected.

Under configure Ide locations:

Arduino 1.5.x
C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino


Current version of IDE is 1.6.5, but the alternatives i get in under configuration is 1.0.x, 1.5.x and Teensy.

Yes you need to upgrade Visual Micro, there needs to be an Arduino 1.6 option in the list and that is what you need to use for the new Arduino Ide since 1.6.2.

Your Visual Micro version is shown in "tools>options>visual micro>version". It must be from last year or early this year before the big Arduino change.

Ok, thanks for the information. My current version is 1.1412.10.

So do I need to download one of the installation files from http://www.visualmicro.com/page/Arduino-Visual-Studio-Downloads.aspx ? Will it work with Atmel Studio 6.2 and do I need to buy a new license?

You should install using the Atmel Studio Gallery via "Tools>Extension Manager"

There isn't a download for As6.2 on VisualMicro.com since Atmel Studio 7 was launched.

Your license remains the same and is unaffected by upgrading or uninstalling Visual Micro.

After upgrade if you can't see Visual Micro in As6.2 then please follow the first point of the 2010/As6.2 section of the faq on visualmicro.com
