Hex/map file location

I am impressed by being able to use breakpoints in VS2015.  With minutes of usage, I am impressed with this plug in and glad I downloaded it.  Congratulations to the authors.

I am hoping to find the output hex file.  With the Arduino IDE in Windows, I find it in the C:\Users\... area.  But it does not seem to be there for the VS2015 build.  Where do I find it?  Is it possible to find the .map file as well?

Hi,

Thanks for the post.

Please switch on "tools>options>visual micro>compiler>show build folder" this will give a link to the temp folder in the output of each build. CTRL+Click.

Or switch on "Visual Micro>Verbose messages" and you can see the location in the output.

It worked for me.  And thanks for pointing out the additional menus added to VS2015 by VisualMicro.

Please congratulate the developers.  It development continues to be a pleasant surprise, I will not hesitate to pay a reasonable license fee.  It is really worth it.

I am not sure Arduino IDE supports breakpoints.  It is great to have even a single breakpoint.

I took your suggestion of turning on 'Show Build Properties".  (Somehow that post is no longer in this thread.)

There are a couple of properties that are almost there.  I may be able to take the full path of the .ino file and get the directory path out of it.  But that will take some digging into batch file syntax.

I think this thread is closed.  I hope you can find time to make the directory a separate property.

Thanks for your input and time.

I moved the new discussion to another thread that you also have a link to. This thread just states how to find the build folder which is useful on its own Smiley

I was wrong I think you created the other post.

If you go to your "User CP" in the top row of tabs then when it opens click "Posts" you can see your historic posts, last 5 or whatever you set it to display.

You have a link in an email because you have commented in the post Smiley

You can also review this board index and see the latest two posts have your name against them.
