Tim, I don't know if I somehow include the whole enchilada, but my dependencies folder has zillions of files.

Is this normal or correct?

If not, how did I do it and how do I back myself out of it?

Yes this is correct and is showing the underlying tool chain that is compiled when your program is compiled.

It's easier to click "vMicro>Toggle Hidden Files" than use the dependencies

The toggle adds short cuts to library and Arduino core. F12 or GoTo will then take you to the linked sources avoiding the need to see the underlying tool chain sources. Doesn't affect the compile by adding the short cuts.
