Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
 
Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Purchased key activation problem

Hello i just purchased a license key but when i try to debug the application shows a window which prompts me to buy a license key Please help

Hi,

Thanks for buying.

I just looked at the history of the key and it has been used to activate your machine 15 times today. So I suspect we have some confusion when activating.

Can you please enter the key and click the Activate button once then restart the Ide. 

Maybe the problem is simply the ide needs a restart so I will add a better message to the window!!

Thank you for your quick responce.

Well the first fact is that when i enter the activation key and press activate key nothing happens (except a small window which prints that the key is being activated), then nothing and in order to continue i haver to press the cancel key. Is that right?

Also i did activate the key and restarted the whole application a\nd still the debug mode seems like never activeted. I have to inform you that at the tools -> options -> visual micro field the application shows the "registered" label.

So the problem persists i have done everything till now. The debug mode just won't work even if i purchased the licence

Thanks for the info. I am in UK and it's getting later so responses can take a few hours sometimes. Don't worry we will make it work or give a refund.

I can tell you that many people activate every day and have done for some years so we have to look for the difference in your pc.

The activation  server is happy with the key so I guess it is a problem saving the activation information to your pc. Please try to run Visual Studio in admin mode by right clicking the shortcut and selecting Run as administrator". Then try the activation.

When activation works it should happen very quickly and show a dialog with the word "REGISTERED". Then you will know it has succeeded.

Ok thanks I did try to run as administrator but no change. I will try to install e fresh windows 7 with a new atmel studio installation new Visual Micro and then i will try to register the plugin one more time.

Thanks, I can add some trace info to the reg processes if required. It has been activated many thousands of times, the trial also activates so that's a good few hundred every day. So that's why there hasn't been a need for trace info before.

Out of interest, which atmel studio version are you using? Not that it should make a difference but useful to know what to add trace info too?

another thing to try is to activate from tools>options>visual micro>license key

paste the key into the field then click OK.

I did that twice (just a few minutes ago) anf i got a REGISTERED notification. Then i closed Atmel studio 7 and started it again . 

No luck, when i get to select (Micro debug)-> FULL option i get the buy visual micro pro window.

I forgot to notice the fact that i am running win7 thru virtual box (Linux). 

I am using  all my previous applications without any problems. 

Anyway i will try to install everything to my wifes win 7 laptop to se if any good news.

Okay thanks for the great effort. I am sure it must be a problem saving an .xml file to the windows user folder. That's what the activation process does.

So the laptop will be okay but I guess not ideal.

By the way, silly question but it's happened before. Make sure you have not set "Tools>options>visual micro>system>disable pro features" to True. It must be false or the system will work in free mode only.

That was it !!!!!!!!!!!

Your great experience solved the problem.

The option you mentioned (Tools -> Options -> Visual Micro->System ->PAUSE PRO FEUTURES was set to TRUE. 

i make it FALSE and inserted the license key in the appropriate field.

That weas it, seems to work like a charm.
