New VS2017 CE install. Arduino projects don't show up on 'Recent' list

Hi,

New install of VS2017 CE and Visual Micro pro on a brand-new Dell XPS-15 with Win10 home.  Can't seem to get any Arduino project to show up on 'Recents' list.  If I open & close a 'normal' C# project, it gets added to the 'Recents' list, but if I do the same for the .sln file associated with an Arduino project, it doesn't.

On my old Win 7 box, this worked properly.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here?

If you use the standard Visual Studio menu commands to open a project or solution they will show on the recent list.

If you use "File>Open>Arduino Project" they will not. However you can click on the solution then click "SaveAs" (same name) to force onto the recent list.

tip

You only "File>Open>Arduino Project" the first time to open .ino files and have a project created automatically. After that you should use standard vs commands.

Tim,

Thanks - that did it!  And now I understand why (as  the old Shaman in 'Little Big Man' said)  "sometimes the magic works, and sometimes it doesn't" Cheesy
