Cannot change port#

The Drop Down List containing available COM ports lists the connected ports but does not allow me to select any port except COM1. This behavior started this morning. I subsequently installed the Visual Studio 2017 IDE updates and the Visual Micro updates so that I am now at the current code level, but I still cannot select the com port.

I have notices for several weeks that whenever I plug in a board, the board type selector changes to UNO and the COM selector got set to the same port in all currently running copies of Visual Studio. I just now opened a second copy of Visual Studio and the COM selector came up as COM22: (correct) then shifted to COM1: and won't allow me to change it.

This problem is a complete dead stop for my development. I cannot proceed until I can fix this. Tongue

Maybe you switched on "vMicro>General>Auto select board port" and your pc is always telling Visual Micro that COM1 has just connected.

Switch off "vMicro>General>Auto select board port" and it should leave you to select the port.
