I don't know if this is the right place to submit a bug report, if it's not let me know and I'll move it elsewhere.

I have recently upgraded from VStudio 2017 to 2019 and had no issues, however recently the 'Serial Monitor' window appears to be broken.

If I click 'Extensions -> vMicro -> View Port Monitor', the port monitor window opens, but the contents of the window remains blank (i.e. there is no serial monitor buttons or fields).

Furthermore, (may be unrelated), but if I try to hide the 'Micro Board Debug Options' and the 'Micro Programmer' toolbars (Right clicking the toolbar and removing the tick), the toolbars disappear (as expected), but reappear a second later. This appears to only happen with these 2 toolbars (although I have not tested all of them).

VStudio V16.2.0
VMicro 1908.5.0
Windows 10 1903 Build 18362.267

At the top of this forum and the top of the release notes and the top of other locations we inform you that microsoft have broken tool windows in VS2019.

You can switch OFF Tools>Options>Environment>General>Optimize rendering for screens with to work around the problem.

We are rewriting the tool windows from windows forms to WPF which does not suffer the issue

You are correct, sorry I clearly wasn't looking hard enough. Disabling the screen rendering optimisation has fixed the issue with the Serial Monitor.

However, the toolbars still re-enable themselves after I disable them (nothing major, just slightly annoying). The other vMicro toolbars do not do this, so I assume this is a bug unrelated to the broken tool windows.

Yes it's not easy to tell me about and is a pain in the bu.t

Please release release notes but there is a lot of read so I can tell you that we have a section on the vMicro menu called "tool bar auto visibility"

The default for most bars is ON which causes them to auto display when an arduino project is open. Switch them OFF and then you have manual control of tool bar visibility.

Again thank you Smiley

Moral of the story is that I need to read before posting.

Hi,
Just to confirm I also have the issue with not being able to hide the Programmer and Debug menu, I am running VS2017 with the latest VSMicro (updated today).
I did have these menus hidden before, after the update, they appeared and cant get rid of them.

Thanks
