Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Link error when building for Due - SAM Core 1.6.4

I recently upgraded everything to:
IDE 1.8.10
Visual Studio 2019
Visual Micro 1909.27.0
The Error:
\Debug\core\syscalls_sam3.c.o: No such file or directory

I had the same error with IDE 1.8.9
A Google search shows this to be a common error but none of the fixes involving dropping the /core/ in the build path fixed the problem.

Any ideas?

Sorry I missed your attachment initially.

This issue seems to be limited to older SAM tool chains or core. You have 1.6.4 of the SAM platform installed in board manager which is quite an old version. 

We will reolve in future releaes but updating your SAM platform in board manager will also resolve the issue.

Solution

1)
Please switch off "vMicro>Compiler>Shared Cache For Cores"

OR

2)
Upgrade your SAM tool chain using board manager. Recent versions work with the shared cores.



info: "Shared core cache" improves compiler speed when using the same board and optimization/debug settings accross multiple projects.
