Changing New Project templates

After some poking around, I've located where the templates for new projects are.  Is it possible to have a custom template, so I can add the stuff I always end up adding anyway?

I could just edit the ones in the install location, but there's no guarantee that the next update wouldn't stomp them, and the install directory shouldn't have per user info in it.

It's worth reading about visual studio templates in the microsoft docs. They are just zip files and you can put your own in the correct location (s).

When a project is selected you should see Project>Export Template. Exporting templates is a feature of VS and allows you to do what you want.
