Can't select the arduino ide in visual micro, but I can see it in the explorer

Hi,

I have installed visual micro for visual studio and I have selected the correct version and path for the arduino IDE that I have installed.
In the visual micro explorer I can see my arduino IDE and all the boards, libraries and examples are all there (as can be seen in the attached picture). However, I can't select them in visual studio itself.
Also when I try to open an arduino project with visual micro I get the following message:

Error during processing of the command. Please review or post the stack trace in the www.visualmicro.com forumObject reference not set to an instance of an object. (Visual.Micro.Visual.Studio.Arduino.Helper.SolutionOpenArduinoSketch)
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at Visual.Micro.MiroAppAPI.SketchUtils.OpenSketchFilePicker(MCUApplication mcuApp, Object VmVsPackage)
   at Visual.Micro.Visual.Studio.Arduino.AddInApp.ExecCmd(String commandName)

On my desktop I have it working flawlessly, but on my laptop I have these issues.
So does anyone know how I could fix this?

Did you click cancel when prompted to activate or start a trial?

There wasn't an option to cancel only a close button which I did click.
But on my other pc it does work and there I also closed all the prompts that asked me to activate it, so I would be surprised if that is the issue.

Sorry I meant close.

Now that your trial has ended you need to buy and then you will have a key that you can activate.

Thanks

I am having the same issue. I also just have the demo version. Are you saying that it will not work now unless I pay for the full license? I thought it was supposed to keep working after the demo ended. Is there perhaps something else I've done wrong?

Sorry the demo is a full trial. The product has not been free for a long time. The daily nag screen has asked people to buy on a trust basis but that changed when the "Start trial" button was added to the nag screen.

Personal use is only $19 for a year.

Thanks

The strange thing is that it does work on my other computer, where I did not start a trial or buy the full version. Instead, I can just click close every time and everything works fine. So how come that this isn't the case for this device.

It's not so strange. The other device is also asking you to buy. A three machine license at $29+tax would save any concern.
