Find all References is not working

the "find all References"  function seems to stop working or only works partially.  Most times it works, then some times It will only find some of the references of a variable.  I can not find a defintie pattern.  I have tried restarting Visual Studio which seems to sometimes fix it but not always. I have shut down and restrarted the computer which maybe also helped some times, but hard to tell .  Any ideas ?

Hi, please follow the guide in the yellow box above.

Are the references in the project code or external code?

Here is the output file.  Glad to send it, I just get a bit overwhelmed.

slight update.   Something that may be related is there is also issues with "rename" function.   I have two variables 3 lines apart and when I do a "rename" it does not find even the variable two lines away.

I have had this happen before also, right about the time the "find all references" capability seemed to get wonky.   maybe this will help

Thanks for the update.

When this is happening, could you zip the entire project folder, and attach it for us to review.

Also please attach the information from Visual Studio > Help > About Microsoft Visual Studio, and then click the Copy Info, and attach this as a text file.
