Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Project Properties, Build and Build/Upload tool bar icons are grayed out.

Project Properties, Build and Build/Upload tool bar icons are grayed out and always have been since the new install yesterday. My target board is an ESP32-S3-MINI-1. I am connected via the USB programming port. I don't see a tool bar option for serial/JTAG programming... Undecided

You have to open the project or solution.  You only have misc file open

Please post full image of ide if this doesn't make sense.

You used a different system to open the project called "Folder View"

Click "File>Close Folder"

Then click any of the following:-

File>Recent Projects and Solutions
File>Open>Arduino Project
File>Open>Project or Solution

Click "File>Close Folder"

File>Open>Project or Solution

If you look above the solution explorer on the left side you can still it is still "Folder View". 

Microsoft have made it a bit confusing for new users.

Just use File>Open>Arduino Project. It prompts you to open an .ino and then ensures you have a project open.

Alternatively please follow the first steps in the documentation. There are also youtube videos in our channel that show the various ways to create, open and reopen projects in VS with Visual Micro.

btw: This functionality has not altered in the update. I expect you previously only created or opened a project one time and it wasn't clear what had happened?
