I'm getting the msg in the solution monitor

What msg is this?? 

Install  (not installed) to build using the  (not installed) build tools.

Can you either send the contents in a PM, or email it to us at support@visualmicro.com, along with a link to this forum thread?

The message can be ignored and will disappear when you build or cause the Visual Micro output window to appear (MicroBuild)

VS is showing the message because the platform toolset is not specified (or has been set to an incorrect value) for the project. Visual Micro doesn't use or need the platform toolset the message can be ignored.

The first line disappears on you advice

To solve that

goto the solution explorer menu and click "show all files"

then go to \_vm\Configuration.Debug.vmps.xml

replace <Platform Name ... </Platform>

with <Platform Name ... </Platform> from a project that is working with the same board selected

looks like... (but don't use this below).

Now it doesn't return anymore. I have it with other projects to that include a header file from the solution explorer with the lastest vs and vm.

Doesn't matter. Has no effect on your pc, just makes the TRACEDESIGNTIME  variable available to Visual Studio and only applies to visual studio logging of this parituclar issue.

I lost the visual micro menu by setting it in sytemvariable.
