Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post

Hello,
a view days ago I installed the Atmel Studio from Microchip. Now, the VSIX-Installer reports that there is no Visual Studio 2019 installation available.
Attached you will find the reportfile. 
Any ideas how to fix this?

Are you using the VS2019 VSIX downloaded from our page?
https://www.visualmicro.com/page/Arduino-Visual-Studio-Downloads.aspx

If you right click the VSIX and select the Visual Studio Version Selector, it should install as expected:

If you run a repair on VS2019, does the option appear?

Alternatively, if you right click the VSIX and go to Open With..., you can them browse your PC for the correct VS2019 Installer.  For Example on my machine the installer can be found in the below location (its in the same folder as your Visual Studio devenv.exe):
Code
Select All
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2019\Community\Common7\IDE\VSIXInstaller.exe

To solve this problem you have to deinstall the Microchip IDE and you must repair the Visual Studio installation.

Thanks for the update.

Both Microchip Studio and Visual Studio should run side by side without any issues, with the exception of the VSIXInstaller conflict which is out of our control.

Out of interest can you now see the Open With > Visual Studio Version Selector?

Unfortunately microsoft appear to have a clash between the Vs2015 installer that AS7 uses and the one that VS2019 use.

The best solution, if this happens again, is to click "File>Open With>Browse", then select the VSIXinstaller.exe that will reside in the folder of the IDE you are trying to install into. 

Example: To install for VS2019, run the vsixinstaller.exe from the same folder that the Visual Studio 2019 shortcut uses. That might be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2019\Community\Common7\IDE\VSIXinstaller.exe"
