Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post

Thanks, can you try re-selecting the COM Port from the serial port list?

If it will work it will just show as COM5 when its' selected.

Udate

I switched from "attiny by David A. Mellis" to "DIY_Attiny" and then the programming succeeded.

The difference as seen:
In the COM port selection box COM5 is listed without the extension text, which is still to be seen in the drop down list:

Update II

Switching back to "DIY_Attiny" I found, that the COM port selection box is repopulated and now doesn't show the extension text either (which was not true after the restart of the IDE):

Additionally, opening a previous project has still the wrong "text" in the box, one has to reselect the same port to get it fixed.

We will review this area and make any relevant improvements to help avoid this in the future for other users.

Hello Simon, Tim,

to top things off, I programmed an Arduino Nano via mySMartUSB using the ISP port, as I have sometimes done in the past.

This worked well now, too, as it did with the AtTiny85.

Thanks for the update, the latest release (2023.0731.8) will resolve this for future users so both issues are resolved (with programmer selection and COM port passed to the programmer command).
