ESP32 (Cheap Yellow Display) Bluetooth Enable?
Jan 4th, 2026 at 4:04am

How to I confirm that BT is enabled in the compiler for my ESP32 (CYD) module using the ESP3 Dev Module board selection?  I looked in the vMicro options for the board, but didn't find anything.

TIA,

Frank

To my knowledge the ESP32 core has the Bluetooth functionality enabled at the core level for all boards (which is done when the core is built in IDF for the Arduino Board Package, and can be seen in the sdkconfig in e.g. 5-f1a1df9b-v3\esp32\sdkconfig).

To enable it for your sketch it should be as simple as including the Bluetooth headers for the BT or Bluetooth Serial Library from the core libraries, which can also be done by selecting it from vMicro > Add Library >  Current Platform List.
