Is it possible to assign JTAG debugger for uploading compiled binary to target board instead of serial port?

Currently you have just the arduino programmers list on the vMicro>Uploader menu. You can add to this list but we will add some additional programmer over the coming few weeks.

There is no choice in the Programmer field.
If I try to alter Allways use Programmer for Upload... field I got warning info.

This means the author the core you are using has not added a programmer to the list. They can follow the Arduino 3rd party hardware spec. to see how to add programmers.

We can force additional ones into the list when users submit the "programmers.txt" definition to us or we can add them on request when time allows.

Am I right that VM does not use Arduino definitions( platform.txt, programmers.txt) but uses its own?
If so, where these files located?

No, we use same definitions as the Arduino IDE

The vMicro>Compiler>"Show build properties" and "verbose" show you locations of tool chains and also the Platform Explorer has links at the bottom preview when hovering boards and board manager

I do not know how, but in VisualGDB, they did it. COM port is not affected  during upload. And it is very comfortable, not to switch serial on/off.

They did nothing with programmers.txt. It has zero length.

Can you confirm which programmer and board you are trying to use for this upload?
