Issues with Microchip Studio, VS 2019 and VS 2022 and STM microcontrollers

Microchip Studio was my IDE of choice but when I used it for STM micro controller STM32 L432 it became unstable. The same issues arose with  VS 2019, VS 2022.
The first thing I noticed was that creating a project resulted in 2 folders being created in a hierarchy with the *.ino in the lowest level. A prompt comes up to update an XML file. If Yes the the MS7 went unstable. Not sure why the prompt is necessary anyway? In some cases Start-up files were included for an M3 processor that cause a compiler issue?
I tested a STM sketch configured for the STM processor (above) that runs correctly from the Arduino IDE but the MS7, VS 2019, VS 2022 doesn't find the build path, and obviously will not compile. There isn't a Deep Search option to select. The STM package is present in he Arduino15 folder.
I also noticed that the VM toolbar selections don't function correctly. If a selection is made it appears briefly and then unchecks so it clears?
I have used the latest version of the MS7, VS2019 and Vs 2022 and the latest VM plugins.
Have I done something wrong?

Could you attach the build output from the Arduino IDE with the File > Preferences > Show Verbose Output During Compile checked?

The VM Toolbars are likely in Automatic mode, which can be changed as shown on the below page:
https://www.visualmicro.com/page/Automatic-Toolbars.aspx

If you can enable the logging options shown at the top of the page in VS2022 for vMicro and attach the build output from that as well we will be able to advise more easily.

Thanks for the detail.

Can you confirm which version of the Arduino IDE you have installed on your machine?
